So I went to Burger Bar and didn't have a Burger. And it was delicious. I had house made broccoli cheese soup. Right before the cook began to prepare this on a line similar to a Waffle House, he turns around, looks at me and asks if I want some bacon thrown in the soup. It was his opinion it made the soup that much better. I obliged and he was right. Along with my soup, I had a hot ham and cheese sandwich. Large chunk, cured ham was the base of the sandwich. I was partially afraid it would be thin, pre-sliced deli meat slapped on bread and toasted. But the same chef who recommended the bacon in my soup grilled up the cured ham on his flat top and topped it with fresh cheese. I finished the meal with a blueberry shake to go and left feeling like a king. Burger Bar was quaint and fun. The staff looked to be enjoying themselves and the food was great. Stop by for a unique treat if you want some standard burger fare selection.

Yesterday was my first visit...ever, but won't be my last. I know it's called the Burger Bar, but the Reuben was amazing! Excellent staff and very reasonable price. Thank you for a GREAT first visit.

Pros: Many hamburger variations, hard working staff.

We were so looking forward to eating here after reading reviews and learning some of the history of the diner but we were rather disappointed. The bun on the hamburger was cold...not toasted or even steamed and the cheese wasn’t melted. So much for the hot, juicy burger I was anticipating. The malt tasted more like melted ice cream instead of a malt. My husband did enjoy his hot dog and fries though and the servers were all very friendly. We will probably go elsewhere to eat the next time we’re in Bristol.

To me, the cons outweigh the pros.

You can tell a lot about how good the food is at a place depending on how many people are there, and this place was packed! We got the last open table. Great service and the burgers are amazing! You can’t beat the price either, especially for all the food you get. Such a cute old time looking diner! First time there and will definitely be going back! Absolutely delicious!

Cons: ran out of Reubens. Hamburgers way over done- very dry and not juicy at all. Inflexible - would not substitute another side for fries in combo even with up-charge - forcing you to to pay full price $3+ to get something besides fries. That makes it too expensive for what you get.
